Turkey court upholds convictions of opposition journalists

A Turkish appeals court on Tuesday upheld jail sentences against opposition journalists in a long-running case targeting the Cumhuriyet newspaper -- one of the few remaining dailies to oppose President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Woman gets 15 yrs in jail for possessing drugs

A special court in Champai district on Mizoram-Myanmar border sentenced a 40-year-old woman to 15 years of rigorous imprisonment for possessing heroin, officials said Tuesday. Lalthansangi was convicted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act for carrying 555 grams of heroin on February 9, 2017, they said. Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling Tuesday claimed that his government provides financial assistance for construction of religious places of worship in the state. Clough set to acquire Saulsbury’s oil and gas unit, EPC portfolio

Murray & Roberts (M&R) subsidiary Clough will acquire Houston-based engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor Saulsbury’s Gulf Coast downstream and chemical business unit, as well as its EPC portfolio, for $5.2-million.  In the statement issued on Tuesday, M&R CE Henry Laas commented that the acquisition of a US-based EPC contractor in the oil and gas sector would enable its oil and gas platform to deliver projects to a rapidly growing market.
