Seven farmer suicides in MP since Cong govt came to power

Seven farmer suicides were reported in Madhya Pradesh since the regime change last December, the Assembly was informed Thursday. In a written reply to a question, Minister for Farmers Welfare Sachin Yadav said seven farmers have ended life in the state since December 11, when the assembly election results were announced. In his reply, the minister also stated that indebtedness was not the reason for any of the seven suicides. The Congress ended the BJP's 15-year-rule in the November 2018 elections. Читать дальше...

Rajasthan HC rejects interim bail plea of Asaram

The Rajasthan High Court Thursday rejected the interim bail plea of self-styled godman Asaram. In his bail application, Asaram had stated that his wife Laxmi Devi was seriously ill and was admitted in the hospital. Since he has been in the jail for the past five years continuously, he be granted bail to attend his wife. Justice Sandeep Mehta, while rejecting his bail plea said, "The court has no sympathy with such criminals." He was hearing the plea after justice Sangeet Lodha had refused to hear the plea Monday. The ruling Telugu Desam Party and the main opposition YSR Congress are busy pruning a list of aspirants to pick five candidates to fill as many slots in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council, the election notification for which has been issued Thursday.
