Massive power outage reported throughout much of Venezuela
With 18 of the country's 23 states without power. In the capital Caracas, subway service screeched to a halt. The state-owned power company blames the outage on what it calls an "attack" on the Guri Dam, one of the world's largest hydroelectric stations. It's the cornerstone of Venezuela's electrical grid. The Information Minister Jorge Rodriguez called the blackout a criminal act by right-wing extremists.
