Have started interrogating Sushil Ansal on passport issue: Police to HC

The police on Wednesday told the Delhi High Court that it has started to interrogate real estate baron Sushil Ansal, convicted for the 1997 Uphaar cinema fire incident that claimed 59 lives, regarding how he got fresh passports despite criminal cases pending against him. The submission was made by the Delhi Police in a status report placed before Justice Najmi Waziri who had on December 17 last directed the agency to lodge an FIR in connection with Ansal getting a favourable verification report in 2013 when he applied for a fresh passport. Lenders sell 12 cr share of Reliance Communications

Lenders of Anil Ambani-led Reliance Communications Wednesday sold 12 crore pledged shares, which accounted for 4.34 per cent stake of promoters in the telecom firm. The sale was a result of lenders invoking shares pledged with them. The pledged shares belonged to promoters including that of Ambani, his family members and RCom group entities, according to a BSE filing. RBI relaxes norms for trade credit

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Wednesday relaxed norms for imports of capital and non-capital goods by raising the trade credit limit to USD 150 million under the automatic route. A man illegally transporting around 350 litres of liquor was arrested in Greater Noida on Wednesday, police said. The accused, identified as Jagbeer, was arrested under Kasna police station limits carrying 28 cartons of liquor in his hatchback car, the police said. Indian IT services company HCL Technologies Wednesday announced the acquisition of Strong-Bridge Envision (SBE), a US headquartered digital transformation consulting firm, in a USD 45 million deal. "With this acquisition, SBE will become part of HCL's global Digital and Analytics business," HCL Technologies said in a statement.
