Sudan's UN envoy said Friday that a two-year transition period to civilian rule announced by the military council that seized power in the country could be shortened as protesters kept up their demands for change. Addressing the UN Security Council, Sudan's charge d'affaires Yasir Abdelsalam offered assurances that the military council would support an inclusive civilian-led government. NAPLES, Fla. — A drunk Florida man was arrested outside Olive Garden after eating pasta in an inappropriate manner. According to the Miami Herald, officers with Naples Police Department were dispatched to the chain restaurant around 3:30 p.m. Sunday regarding a disturbance. Students at US university approve fund to benefit slave descendants

Students at Georgetown University have approved a fund that would benefit the descendants of slaves sold by the elite Jesuit school in the 1800s. Creation of the reparations fund was approved in a student referendum and the results were announced late Thursday. The Georgetown University Student Association (GUSA) said 2,541 students voted in favour of the measure while 1,304 opposed it.
