Chile maintains rate, to keep stimulus for extended time
Chile's central bank kept its monetary policy rate steady for the second time following hikes in October 2018 and January this year, saying "the lower level and outlook of inflation require keeping the monetary stimulus still for an extended time."
The Central Bank of Chile, which raised its rate by a total of 50 basis points in October and January, added the latest economic data did not deviate significantly from the March monetary policy report and the course of monetary policy normalization will be reviewed in the June report.
