Blast hits Egypt tourist bus, 17 injured: security, medical sources

An explosion struck a tourist bus on Sunday near Egypt's famed pyramids, injuring 17 people including foreigners, security and medical sources said. South Africans and Egyptians were among those injured when an explosive device went off, hitting the bus in Giza, according to the sources. No deaths were reported. In the last phase of polling in the general elections, all eyes are on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's constituency Varanasi, where more than 57.81 per cent voting was recorded till 7 pm. Polling has been peaceful and no major incident of violence has been reported, said poll officials in Varanasi, from where Modi is seeking a reelection. According to the Election Commission's Voter Turnout app, 57.81 per cent polling was reported till 4 pm in the constituency. Maximum polling was recorded in the Sevapuri assembly segment (61.60)... An average of 75.81 percent polling was recorded in the by-elections to two Karnataka assembly constituencies, Chincholi and Kundgol, on Sunday. While Chincholi registered a voter turnout of 70.3 percent, Kundgol 81.33 percent. The outcome of the by-polls is likely to have a bearing on the stability of the JDS-Congress coalition government in the state. Barring a clash between the Congress and BJP workers over alleged distribution of money by some leaders of the former to the voters, the polls were by and large peaceful, officials said.

Domestic help arrested for stealing jewellery worth Rs 15 lakh from Pitampura area

A 19 year-old woman was arrested for allegedly stealing jewellery worth Rs 15 lakh and cash from a house in northwest Delhi's Pitampura where she used to work as a domestic help, police said Sunday. The accused has been identified as Khusboo, a resident of Khanpur village in Samastipur district of Bihar, they said. The theft was reported at Subhash Place police station on Friday, police said. Six killed, five injured in separate accidents in Rajasthan

Six persons, including three minors, were killed and five others injured in three separate accidents in Rajasthan on Sunday, police said. A couple and their four-month-old baby were killed when their car collided head on with a truck in the Rajgarh police station area of Churu near Choti bus stand, they said. The deceased have been identified as Manvir Jat (28), her wife Anita Jat (25) and their son Naksh. In Sirohi district, two cousins were killed and three others injured when their car overturned.
