DU admissions 2019: Over 2.29 lakh register for undergraduate courses

Over 2.29 lakh aspirants had registered on Delhi University's admission portal for undergraduate courses till Wednesday, the varsity said. The registration process commenced on May 30 and will go on till June 14. Till Wednesday, 2,29,837 candidates had registered on the portal, while 1,28,787 had made payments. Out of the registered candidates, 81,206 belong to the unreserved category, 22,798 are from the OBC category, 18,539 from SC, 3,770 from ST and 2,474 from the EWS category, which was introduced this year. Malta navy rescues 370 migrants from Mediterranean

Malta's navy said on Wednesday that it had rescued a total of 370 migrants from the Mediterranean in four separate operations. The navy rescued 63 migrants in distress after their dinghy started to take in water overnight, a statement said, and 99 in a similar incident on Wednesday. A patrol boat rescued another 61 migrants after they made a distress call, and then 147 more in a third rescue, the navy said. Intermediate question papers go missing from Warangal police

Days after an alleged goof-up in declaration of intermediate exam results, question papers of the 'Intermediate Advance Supplementary Examinations' were found missing from a police station here where they were stored. The exams are slated to be held from June 7. The question papers of Zoology, Mathematics and English exams scheduled to be held on June 10 and 11 are missing, police said.
