WTO hosts final round of John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition

Law students from around the world gathered in Geneva on 4-8 June for the final round of the John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition on WTO Law, a simulated hearing of the WTO dispute settlement system, organized by the European Law Students’ Association (ELSA) with the technical support of the WTO. Kenya’s Strathmore University School of Law emerged as winners of the competition while Harvard Law School was the runner-up.

DDG Wolff: “I believe that the multilateral trading system will endure and ultimately be strengthened”

In a speech to the G-2 Conference at the WTO on 8 June, Deputy Director-General Alan Wolff said that the stronger the WTO is as an institution, the more likely it can play a positive role in providing a response to trade conflicts. WTO members, business CEOs and non-governmental organizations should broaden their effort to support the WTO in order to ensure fairness and predictability in international trade. DDG Wolff’s remarks are below.
