Nassau County Aviation and Marine Bureau Units hosted interagency training with the Suffolk County Police Department Wednesday so police could learn to use new “rescue sticks.” The sticks deploy into personal flotation devices upon contact with water; they’re used to aide in the rescue of people in the water who need help. These rescue sticks can be deployed from a helicopter, marine vessel or from land.
