A Railway Protection Force constable has saved the life of a passenger who had fallen between platform and train while getting down from the train at Bhubaneswar railway station, an official said Monday. Trump says other countries should protect own Gulf shipping

President Donald Trump on Monday said other countries should protect their own Gulf oil shipments, and defined US aims regarding Iran as "No Nuclear Weapons and No Further Sponsoring of Terror." In a pair of tweets, Trump said the US did not even need to be in the Gulf because it had become the world's largest energy producer. "So why are we protecting the shipping lanes for other countries (many years) for zero compensation. All of these countries should be protecting their own ships on what has always been a dangerous journey," he wrote.

Munitions depot blasts prompt evacuation of Kazakh town

A series of explosions at a southern Kazakh munitions depot Monday led authorities to evacuate a nearby town of 40,000 people and saw dozens reportedly hospitalised. The blasts near the town of Arys were caused by "a fire, which led to the explosion of some of the ammunition (at the depot)," Kazakhstan's defence ministry said in a statement. Social media users shared videos of people fleeing the area with huge plumes of smoke rising towards the sky in the backdrop. The defence ministry said there had been no deaths or injuries recorded.
