On June 9, Yohsuke and I raced the NYS (NY State Series) Williams Lake Classic in Rosendale. It’s always a great course which includes a dark cave you ride through, lots of rocks and tight, twisty singletrack. Surprisingly, we actually had a dry course for a change and hot temps. I had a great race, lovin’ the rocks and finished 1st overall for the Pro/Open women’s field. Yohsuke felt great during his race, but had a front flat. He ended up finishing 8th in his Cat 1 field. On June 2, Yohsuke raced the Highland Mountain Bike Park Classic of the Bubba Trophy Series. This race is 3.5 hours away in New Hampshire and a bit longer in duration than the usual xc races, with a good amount of climbing, rocks and some steep descents. The course was really slick, but Yohsuke races well even when it’s slick out. In a big, competitive field, Yohsuke placed 8th overall in his Cat 1 class.
