Monsoon deficiency in June highest since 2015: IMD data

Monsoon deficiency in June this year was the highest for the month since 2015, India Meteorological Department data revealed. The month ended with 33 per cent deficiency which translates to around 67 per cent of the Long Period Average (LPA). India, Pakistan exchange lists of civilian prisoners

India and Pakistan Monday exchanged lists of civilian prisoners and fishermen in their respective custody as per provision of a 2008 agreement. The lists of prisoners were exchanged through diplomatic channels simultaneously at New Delhi and Islamabad, the External Affairs Ministry said. "India handed over lists of 256 Pakistan civilian prisoners and 99 fishermen in India's custody to Pakistan. Unclaimed deposits in the banking system have witnessed a jump of 26.8 per cent to Rs 14,578 crore in 2018, Parliament was informed on Monday. The unclaimed deposits rose to Rs 11,494 crore in 2017 from Rs 8,928 crore in 2016, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha.
