Air chief Dhanoa to visit Russia from Jul 9-12: IAF

Air Chief Marshal B S Dhanoa will embark on a four-day visit to Russia starting Tuesday, seeking to further strengthen the defence cooperation between the two countries, the IAF said. "The Chief of Air Staff is scheduled to visit various operational and training units as well as fly a sortie in the Russian Trainer aircraft YAK-130," the Indian Air Force said in a statement Monday. 6.8 pc power tariff hike for domestic, industrial consumers

The Kerala state Electricity Board Monday increased power tariff for domestic and industrial consumers by an overall 6.8 per cent. The Electricity Regulatory Commission (ERC), in a press meet here, said the hike, which would come into effect immediately is for a three year period from 2019. The highest increase for various categories of domestic consumers is 11.4 per cent. NIIT Tech: Hulst BV's open offer for NIIT Tech to start from Jul 15

NIIT Technologies Monday said Hulst BV's open offer to acquire an additional 26 per cent stake in the company will commence from July 15. In April, funds affiliated with Baring Private Equity Asia (BPEA) had bought about 30 per cent stake in the mid-sized IT services firm NIIT Technologies from NIIT Ltd and other promoter entities for about Rs 2,627 crore. The deal triggered an open offer under which BPEA is making an offer to the public shareholders of NIIT Technologies for purchasing up to 1,62,29,173 additional shares at Rs 1,394 apiece.
