The Rajasthan government Thursday said it is working to reopen the schools closed during the BJP's tenure in the state. The schools fulfilling prescribed standards will be reopened again, Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasara said Thursday. Replying to a query during the Question Hour in the House, Dotasara said the state government had issued a circular in January, seeking suggestions from district-level committees to reopen the schools closed by the previous government. No plan to implement compulsory voting: Govt

There is no proposal under consideration to implement compulsory voting in the country, Rajya Sabha was informed Thursday. "No such proposal is under consideration of the government," Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said in a written response. Rajasthan Higher Education Minister Bhanwar Singh Bhati Thursday said the state government will soon fill 1,000 posts of teachers vacant in government colleges. Replying to a query raised during the Question Hour, Bhati said to fulfil the budget 2019-20 announcement, efforts will be made to fill the 1,000 posts of teachers vacant in the state colleges. Exim Bank has signed agreements with Papua New Guinea and Senegal governments for providing USD 124 million (over Rs 850 crore) loans to finance infrastructure and health care projects in these countries.
