Air Force officer dies after falling from Laitlum canyon

An Indian Air Force officer posted at the Eastern Air Command (EAC) has died after he fell off a cliff at the Laitlum canyon near here, officials said Monday. The officer, Shailesh K. Pandey, lost his life after he fell off a 100 ft cliff while on a picnic outing with his friends to Laitlum on Sunday evening, they said. Floods in Bihar and Assam have claimed 170 lives till Monday with 1.07 crore people still reeling under the effect of the deluge in the two states.
