The Stock Exchange of Thailand index yesterday saw a steep correction as brewing Sino-US trade tensions and several explosions in Bangkok soured investment appetite.
A series of bombings in Bangkok and Nonthaburi, which injured four people on Friday, is likely to be linked to insurgents in the deep South, although political motivations have also not been ruled out, security sources said.

Measurements of Young’s moduli are mostly evaluated using strong assumptions, such as sample homogeneity and isotropy. At the same time, descriptions of measurement parameters often lack detailed specifications. Many of these assumptions are, for soft hydrogels especially, not completely valid and the complexity of hydrogel microindentation demands more sophisticated experimental procedures in order to describe their elastic properties more accurately. Intra-chain domain interactions are known to play a significant role in the function and stability of multidomain proteins. These interactions are mediated through a physical interaction at domain-domain interfaces (DDIs). With a motivation to understand evolution of interfaces, we have investigated similarities among DDIs. Even though interfaces of protein-protein interactions (PPIs) have been previously studied by structurally aligning interfaces, similar... Читать дальше...

Resilience has been highlighted as a pivotal factor in overcoming the detrimental impact of trauma. The present study tests a resilience model of trauma using risk (rumination, emotion regulation, and entrapment) and protective (perceived social support) factors in a sample of firefighters who are at heightened risk for post-traumatic stress disorder, using a cross-sectional design. Specifically, the present study focuses on perceived social support as a resilience factor against PTSD symptoms... Читать дальше...

Scleractinia of the Maputaland reef complex (MRC) in South Africa exist at the margins of the Western Indian Ocean (WIO) coral distribution and are the only substantial hermatypic coral communities in South Africa. Pocillopora species occupy a conspicuous component of the MRC, and previous investigations identified three species of Pocillopora utilizing conventional taxonomy. Thus, our aims were four-fold: to elucidate Pocillopora... Читать дальше...

The new era in the design of modern healthy buildings necessitates multidisciplinary research efforts that link principles of engineering and material sciences with those of building biology, in order to better comprehend and apply underlying interactions among design criteria. As part of this effort, there have been an array of studies in relation to the effects of building characteristics on indoor microbiota and their propensity to cause health issues. Читать дальше...
