JSPL reports Rs 87 cr net loss in Jun quarter

Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) on Wednesday reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 87 crore during the first quarter ended June 30, mainly due to higher expenses. The company had posted Rs 110-cr consolidated net profit during the same quarter a year-ago, JSPL said in a BSE filing. During April-June 2019, the company said its total income was at Rs 9,946 crore as against Rs 9,665 crore in the same period a year ago. Indian student in US jailed for intentionally damaging 66 college computers

A 27-year-old Indian student has been sentenced to one year of imprisonment, to be followed by twelve months of supervised release, for intentionally damaging over 60 computers of a college in New York. The youth, identified as Vishwanath Akuthota of Albany, was also ordered to pay USD 58,471 as restitution charge, United States Attorney Grant C Jaquith said on Tuesday. Exports growth to be in double digits this fiscal: Commerce

Exports growth of the country in the current fiscal is likely to be in double digits despite the challenging situation both on the external and internal fronts, Commerce Secretary Anup Wadhawan said here on Wednesday. In the last financial year, growth in exports was between nine and ten per cent and the volume touched USD 331 billion which was a "record", he said.
