Prosecutors clear Czech PM of EU subsidy fraud

Czech prosecutors said Friday they had cleared billionaire Prime Minister Andrej Babis of any wrongdoing in an alleged two-million-euro case of EU subsidy fraud involving one of his farms. Police recommended in April that Babis be indicted in the case in which he and several others, including family members, risked five to 10 years behind bars. Babis flatly denied any wrongdoing. Golf ball lands inside CM's home-office, sends security

A golf ball that landed inside Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa's home office 'Krishna' from the golf course nearby on Friday, sent the security personnel into a tizzy. "It came in from there", one of the security personnel at the Chief Minister's home office, who recovered the golf ball, said pointing at the Bangalore Golf Club on the oppositeside. Ganpati immersion ends; 18 drowning deaths across Maharashtra

At least 18 persons drowned during immersion of Ganesh idols across Maharashtra, police said on Friday. Immersion processions, which began on 'Anant Chaturdashi' on Thursday, continued into Friday morning in Mumbai, Pune and other big cities. Incidents of people drowning during immersion were reported from Amravati, Nashik, Thane, Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri, Dhule, Bhandara, Nanded, Ahmednagar, Akola and Satara districts, a police official said. Genetic cancer risk scam targeting seniors may disqualify them from legitimate tests

A CBS News investigation uncovered massive Medicare fraud where recruiters entice seniors to submit a DNA sample for a genetic cancer risk test. Many never receive the results from these companies but their Medicare accounts are billed for thousands of dollars. In part two of this investigation, CBS News' Jim Axelrod looks at the doctors and laboratories these recruiters are partnering with to bill Medicare. According to government estimates, they are potentially siphoning hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars from the program.
