Fresh Fish and Meat Store expands presence in TN

: FreshToHome.com, an online fish and meat store, on Friday said the company has expanded presence in Vellore and Katpadi in Tamil Nadu. The company had recently raised USD 20 million in Series B funding led by Iron Pillar. "When we decided to expand in Tamil Nadu, Vellore was a choice as a first pit-stop for expansion... the city is also landlocked with the nearest coast being Chennai which means access to fresh seafood and fish products," company CEO, Shan Kadavil said in a company statement. 2 held for online cricket-betting in city

Two persons have been arrested for alleged involvement in online cricket-betting and Rs 53.33 lakh in cash has been seized from them, police said on Friday. The action was part of efforts against illegal betting, a press release from the city police said. On Thursday, police, based on information, found the two involved in the online betting in a private firm here. Apart from cash, three laptops and as many mobile phones were seized from the two, the release said.

West Bengal likely to implement 6th Pay Commission from

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday said the state government will accept the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission, and is likely to implement it from January 1 next year. "We will accept the recommendations of the Commission and sympathetically consider it (procedures and formalities)," Banerjee said, addressing an organisational meet of the state government employee's union. The Sixth Pay Commission was formed on November 27, 2015, with Prof Abhirup Sarkar as its chairman.
