Separate law, budget needed for cyber security: DCA head

Rear Admiral Mohit Gupta, head of the newly created Defence Cyber Agency (DCA), said on Thursday that the country needs a separate law, budgetary allocation and a task force to tackle cyber crime at the national level. He also informed that a cyber security strategy for the country was in the works. Awareness should be created for cyber security and it should be part of school curriculum too, he said. Yes Bank shares crack 16 pc; m-cap drops by Rs 1,046 cr on Altico exposure concerns

Shares of Yes Bank on Thursday plummeted nearly 16 per cent, wiping off Rs 1,046.07 crore from its market valuation, after a Moody's report said the Altico default may be credit negative for banks given their significant exposure to the real estate sector. The scrip cracked 15.52 per cent to close at Rs 54.15 on the BSE. During the day, it plunged 17.23 per cent to Rs 53.05, its one-year low. Flooding rain from Tropical Depression Imelda triggered emergencies overnight near the Gulf Coast of Texas. The storm spawned multiple tornadoes east of Houston Wednesday. The clean-up began shortly after the storm passed. Imelda has already dumped up to a foot of rain in Houston and up to 22 inches of rain has fallen overall.
