A Man for Many Seasons

Ludwig von Mises Institute

Henry Hazlitt, author, journalist, editor, reviewer, economist, has written or edited 18 books and countless articles, columns, editorials, and book reviews. He has gained renown in at least three areas: as a popularizer of sound economic thinking, as a critic of John Maynard Keynes, and as a contributor to moral philosophy. His Economics in One Lesson (1946), a long-time best seller, is one of the finest introductions there is to sound economics. His critique of Keynes,The Failure of the “New Economics” (1959)... A Major Buy Signal For Natural Gas Futures

Oilprice.com

Maybe it’s just me, but natural gas futures seem to have been very hard to read and predict lately. Unusual weather patterns have caused some volatility in storage numbers, but no move seems able to gain any momentum. It has been the classic “choppy” market for a while, but that may be about to change if a widely followed technical signal is anything to go by. That signal is the pattern formed when a short-term moving average crosses over the long-term. If it does so with the short-term line moving upwards... Читать дальше...

Iraq Gets Yet Another Sanctions Waiver

Oilprice.com

Politics, Geopolitics & Conflict - The United States has granted Iraq another four-month exemption from its sanctions that will allow the country to continue to import Iranian electricity and natural gas. The Only Hope For Oil Markets

Oilprice.com

U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude oil futures are edging higher on Friday as traders shrug off worries about an economic slowdown in China and Brexit uncertainty, and shift their focus toward bullish signals from both the Chinese and U.S. refining sectors. The latest U.S. government inventory numbers came in well-above expectations, but traders seem to be unfazed by the news. Despite erasing earlier losses on the daily chart, the markets are still on track to finish the week about 1% lower. China... Читать дальше...

Are U.S. Sanctions Killing Crude?

Oilprice.com

The biggest market disappointment this week is yet another false start for Saudi Aramco, and we’re not sure how many more the market will tolerate. Yesterday morning, Riyadh was all set to go ahead with the IPO. By the end of the day, the plug was pulled once again, with delays set to run into weeks and months as Aramco belatedly decided to further examine vulnerabilities in the wake of the September 14 attack on its facilities. This will be a further negative mark on MBS’ reputation. The delay will... Читать дальше...
