PSG plot surprise swoop for Liverpool FC midfielder – report

0

Paris Saint-Germain are eager to sign Liverpool FC midfielder James Milner, according to a report in France.

French media outfit Le Parisien, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that the Ligue 1 champions are ready to sign Milner to add more depth to their midfield.

The same article states that PSG are monitoring Milner’s situation at Liverpool FC, where the 33-year-old still hasn’t signed a new deal despite his current contract expiring in 2020.

According to the same story, PSG boss Thomas Tuchel is eager to improve his midfield options as the French club look to target Manchester United free agent Ander Herrera and Napoli star Allan.

The report goes on to say that PSG could fund their move to sign Milner by axing up to five current players in their title-winning squad.

The former England international has been a key part of Liverpool FC’s success since Jurgen Klopp took over the reins from Brendan Rodgers back in October 2015.

Milner was signed in a free transfer from Manchester City by Klopp’s predecessor and the veteran midfielder’s experience has been a big asset for the German.

The former Leeds and Newcastle midfielder could get his hands on the Champions League trophy if Liverpool FC beat Tottenham Hotspur in the final on Saturday.
