Sadio Mane makes admission ahead of Liverpool FC v Tottenham final
Sadio Mane has admitted that Liverpool FC are the favourites to win the Champions League when they take on Tottenham Hotspur in Saturday’s final.
The Reds head into the game looking to try and win their first ever trophy under Jurgen Klopp since his appointment at Anfield back in October 2015.
Liverpool FC missed out on the Premier League title by a whisker this season as they finished as runners-up to Manchester City and just a point behind the champions in the table.
The Merseyside outfit are now aiming to go one step further than they did last season, after they lost 3-1 to Real Madrid in the Champions League final in 2018.
And Mane, who scored Liverpool FC’s goal against Real Madrid last year, believes that the Reds are the clear favourites to beat Spurs, who have never played in a Champions League final before.
Speaking in an interview with TF1 quoted by the Daily Express, Mane said: “The final is a one-off game, it will be different from the league.
“You cannot hide, I think we are favourites.”
Liverpool FC are still aiming to win their first major trophy under Klopp, despite the Reds having played in the Europa League and Champions League finals before.
The Merseyside outfit are looking to win the Champions League for the sixth time in their history and for the first time since 2005.
