Novacraft Prospector 15 or 16 for Tripping/Camping
Hi
I am looking to buy my first ever canoe and I think I have it down to the Novacraft Prospector Tuffstuff Expedition. However, I cant decide if I should go for the 15 or 16 foot.
I will mainly be solo paddling but camping for a few days. I appreciate it depends on how much gear I have but I tend to take a lightweight tent and a hammock plus all the usual things you need for a few days. I have quite decent lightweight camping kit. That said, I often take a few bags of logs with me for a fire as places tend to be picked clean. Might not be such an issue if I have a canoe as I can scour loch/river banks section that people cant normally access.
Also, is it worth getting the skid plates fitted. I don't plan to be doing any form of whitewater. Well not yet.
TIA
