Real Madrid confirm Hazard transfer intentions as Perez eyes up £100m move for Chelsea winger amid rumours deal is already agreed
FLORENTINO PEREZ has confirmed Real Madrid’s intentions to snare Eden Hazard away from Chelsea after claiming he’s been trying to sign him for years.
The 28-year-old looks set to join Los Blancos for £100million in the summer as the Belgian international nears the end of his contract at Stamford Bridge.
Hazard last year stated it was his dream to sign for the Spanish side, while he has also let it be known of his desire to play under Zinedine Zidane.
It is understood that the ex-Lille ace is Zizou’s main priority as he looks to build his team around the two-time Premier League winner.
And Real president Perez has publicly admitted his club are desperate to nab Hazard as he stated he is hopeful of finally capturing his signature.
Speaking on Spanish radio station Onda Cero, he said: “We have been trying to make Hazard a Real Madrid player for several years.
“We are working on a project to make people dream again, where we recover our hunger and ambition. I have already lived through this stage before.
“I have a dream that Hazard will arrive this year. Let’s make a good team this year.
“I am very interested in him coming to Real Madrid and I am very hopeful that he will come this year. He’s one of the great footballers.
“Last year we wanted him, but this year he only has one year left on his contract and it is easier.”
