Bake Off: The Professionals 2019 returns TONIGHT – here’s who’s left in the competition and who will be judging
THE second series of Bake off: The Professionals is well underway and the kitchen is heating up.
For the nation’s top pastry chefs who take part in this life-changing show, winning is everything. We take a look at who is left in the competition…
What time is Bake Off: The Professionals 2019 on TV?
Bake Off: The Professionals is next on telly TONIGHT at 8pm on Channel 4.
The show kicked off on April 30 and airs every Tuesday evenings at 8pm on Channel 4.
Each episode runs for an hour and the season is expected to last for ten episodes, just like the first season.
The competition sees 12 professional baker pairs from across the UK battle it out head to head in a series of heat trails.
Each episode sees the experts challenged in two rounds, with the judges picking the best from lot based on their creativity and skill.
The show is hosted by former Bake Off contestant Liam Charles and comedian Tom Allen.
Who are the Bake Off: The Professionals 2019 contestants?
Here the professional pairs, and which of them have been eliminated…
Hannah and Martina – ELIMINATED
The duo were disappointed to be eliminated third in the first round.
The pair were from the Chiltern Firehouse, the popular hotel in London.
Hannah, 22, is the head pastry chef while her employee Martina is studying food science at university as well as working in the hotel’s pastry section.
Adam and Sam
The duo are from the Palé Hall Hotel, a five-star country house hotel in Wales.
Adam, 23, is the head pastry chef and Sam is the commis pastry chef. Sam is taking part in the show to inspire fellow deaf people.
Nelson and Evaldas
The pair are from the South Place Hotel in East London.
Nelson is a self-taught pastry chef while Evaldas works as a sous-chef under him. Evaldas previously came second in the Best Lithuania Chef competition.
Reshmi and Daisy – ELIMINATED
The pair were eliminated second in Heat One.
The duo are from Anges de Sucre in North-West London.
Reshmi is the owner and works with sculpting expert Daisy as they make and deliver handmade cakes for special occasions.
Richard and Bernadett
The pair are from Dreamworld Cakes Patisserie, award-winning wedding cake designers based in Newcastle.
The engaged couple met while working together in London but moved up North and started their own business.
Steven and Connor – ELIMINATED
Steven and Connor were eliminated first in Heat One.
The duo are from 1884 Wine and Tapas Bar in Hull.
Steven, 23, is the head pastry chef while Connor, 19, is currently in the process of opening his own cake business!
Here are the professional pair’s from Heat Two…
Thibault and Erica
The duo are from Kimpton Fitzroy London.
The pair have worked together for three years and Thibault is described as a master of chocolate work, while Erica is all about the nailing the extra details.
Sarah and Leyre
The pair are from Pennyhill Park Hotel and Spa in Surrey.
Sarah is the head pastry chef while Leyre now works at the South Lodge Hotel in Horsham.
Pauline and Robert
The pair are from Tigerlily in Scotland.
The boutique hotel is known for Asian-inspired dishes and Robert is the head chef, while Pauline is the head pastry chef.
Jake and Kevin
The pair are from the Four Season at Ten Trinity Square in London.
Jake is the head pastry chef and was raised in Paris before moving to London working for the private members club in the hotel.
Kevin works as an assistant to the executive chef in the main pastry kitchen.
Mark and Gaetano – ELIMINATED
The pair were the first of round two to be eliminated from the competition.
The duo are from Honoré Patisserie in Isleworth.
Gaetano has worked for the business for over 17 years while Mark has been there for 14 years.
Sanjam and Exose
The duo are from The Courthouse Cheshire
Sanjam is the head pastry chef while Exose is a business owner, and the pair are the youngest contestants in the competition.

What is the prize for Bake Off: The Professionals winner?
As well as being crowned the creme de la creme in the competition, the winner are also awarded an engraved silver serving tray.
The sought after award, which can be life-changing to the pair who are awarded with it, was won last year by Sam and Emmanuel.
The pair hailed from London Hilton Park Lane, who wowed the judges with their banquet display which featured a showpiece and four different desserts that combined chocolate and sugar spinning.
Who is judging the show?
The show is judged by pastry chefs Cherish Finden and Benoit Blin.
Cherish currently works as the Executive Pastry Chef at The Langham, London.
She is a multi-award winning chef, with plenty of culinary achievements under her belt.One includes leading the Singapore Pastry team to victory in the 2000 Culinary Olympics.
Cherish has also appeared on other cookery shows including Heston’s Great British Food, Masterchef and Junior Bake Off.
She is originally from Singapore, moving to London in 2001 and has had over 20 years of international experience.
Benoit Blin is a pastry chef who is originally from Normandy in France.
He is currently the Head Pastry Chef at Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons in Oxford, where he worked closely with Raymond Blanc, OBE, for 20 years.
Blin has previously judged the UK Pastry Open, National Chef of the Year and the Master of Culinary Arts Finals.
