Efforts on to discredit NRC updation process: pro-talks ULFA
The pro-talks faction of the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) Tuesday claimed that efforts are on to discredit the updation NRC process and delegates from the state will present its "true picture" in the coming 41st session of the Human Rights Council of the UN.
At a time when the updation process of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) is going on in the state, an "anti-Assam circle" is propagating misinformation in the ULFA (pro-talk) General Secretary Anup Chetia said.
"We strongly oppose such attempt to discredit the NRC process. To clarify doubts and present the true picture, the Khilonjia Mancha Assam will send delegates to participate in the UN convention to be held at Geneva next month," he said.
Chetia was speaking at a press conference organised by the Khilonjia Mancha Assam, a platform for the indigenous people of the state.
