Breaking: Buhari meets with security chiefs in Aso Rock less than 24 hours to inauguration
President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, May 28, met behind closed doors with service chiefs
The meeting started at the president’s office in the State House around 2pm.
Discussions at the meeting would be focused on the security situation in the country.
It should be recalled that northern governors had on Monday, May 27, briefed the president on the increasing banditry attacks in the north western states, kidnappings and killings in the north central part of the nation.
The meeting was still in progress at the time of writing this report.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Abayomi Olonisakin, chief of defence staff (CDS), raised an alarm over the prevailing insecurity across Nigeria, saying the situation is threatening the country's existence.
Olonisakin said this on Saturday, May 25, at the closing ceremony of the joint campaign planning course at the Defence Intelligence College in Abuja.
The CDS who was represented by Paul Ohemu, deputy director of training, said the security challenges must be tackled through collective efforts.
