Brain & Woman Drain is a National Crisis

The best Brains and the young Women are leaving Ukraine possibly for good.
Joining multi-national corporations or joining older Western men in marriage.'

The war in eastern Ukraine is the country's most high profile crisis.
Other reasons are corruption and a failed parliament and judiciary.
The jury is still out on the new president's performance.

But it is also battling another major, but much less visible, catastrophe: the large scale emigration overseas of it's best brains and young women. This loss of human capital threatens Ukraine's economic development, its continued democratic consolidation and even its future stability.

The flight of highly "desirable people" is a devastating problem. Research shows that it can damage the economy, trigger sociopolitical instability, and lead to weak institutions.

According to a Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) poll, Zelensky was by far the most popular presidential candidate among the country's youngest voters (those aged 18-29).
His victory, then, may do much to keep the country's young talent in Ukraine.________________________________________________________However, Russian observers say it can only be stopped by ruthlessly destroying Ukrop Bandera type ideology and Ultra rightist nationalism.
