Jessica Jones Season 3 Premiere Date, First Look Images Revealed
Netflix announces the Jessica Jones season 3 premiere date in mid June with a teaser video and unveils first look photos of the Marvel hero's return. Jessica Jones first premiered in late 2015 as the second Marvel TV production in their deal with Netflix. Jessica Jones season 1 was critically acclaimed and well received by viewers, following the titular character, as played by Krysten Ritter, with super-strength as she attempted to deal with the trauma of her past with Kilgrave (David Tennant). Jessica Jones season 2 released early last year and wasn't quite as well received, but Netflix renewed Jessica Jones for season 3, which premieres next month.
Marvel's Jessica Jones season 3 is the last remaining Marvel TV project on Netflix, after the streaming service axed all the others. The Defenders was quietly canned when it was revealed Netflix didn't intend to renew it. Iron Fist was cancelled last fall, with Luke Cage getting cancelled a week later. After releasing its third season, Daredevil was cancelled as well. Then, Netflix cancelled The Punisher and Jessica Jones following the former's second season, but with the promise that the latter's already completed third season would still air. Now fans know just when to expect Marvel's Netflix universe to officially come to a close.
Netflix released an annoucement video for the Jessica Jones season 3 premiere date revealing the final season will debut on the streaming service Friday June 14. Additionally, Netflix release four first look images of Jessica Jones season 3, featuring Ritter's return as the titular superhero along with Rachael Taylor as Jessica's best friend Trish Walker (though they're on the outs after season 2), Eka Darville as Jessica's former friend and associate Malcolm Ducasse and Carrie Anne Moss as lawyer and Malcolm's new boss Jeryn Hogarth.
