Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez gets apology for Fresno Grizzlies’ video
FRESNO, Ca (KERO) — The Fresno Grizzlies minor league baseball team is apologizing to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for “misleading and offensive editing” of a video that was shown at the team’s stadium Monday.
A video was played during what was billed as a “moving tribute” during the team’s doubleheader on Memorial Day.
According to reports, the video included a segment in which the voice of President Ronald Reagan mentioned “enemies of freedom.” The images were those of North Korea’s Kim Jong-un, Cuba’s Fidel Castro — and the New York congresswoman.
The Grizzlies tweeted apologies, saying, “We’re embarrassed we allowed this video to play without seeing it in its entirety first. We unconditionally apologize to Rep. Ocasio-Cortez in addition to our fans, community and those we hurt.”
Ocasio-Cortez has not responded to the incident.
