Electric scooter battery explodes while charging in a Shanghai apartment

An electric scooter battery exploded while charging in a residential apartment in China's Shanghai on May 11.

The CCTV video shows the battery of an electric scooter suddenly bursting into flames as it was charging in an apartment.

Neighbours heard the noises and called the house owner. They put out the fire together. Fortunately, only several items of furniture near the battery were damaged.
