Mother howled after finding unconscious toddler floating in hot tub during busy pool party
A mother gave an anguished scream after finding her two year-old daughter submerged in a hot tub during a busy pool party.
Neighbor Cheyenne Frausto heard the moment the unnamed woman found her missing toddler during the gathering at a house in Katy, Texas, Monday night.
She said: ‘To hear that mother’s screams coming from the house was terrifying and gut wrenching.
‘You could hear the pain and fear in her voice.’
Frausto added: ‘They were irresponsible to say the least, but no one is perfect.
‘And I know for a fact that the mother is already beating herself up.’
The toddler went unnoticed during a Memorial Day pool party, but was eventually found trapped in the tub after an adult noticed she was missing.
It is unclear how long she had spent submerged in the water.
She received CPR from a frantic adult, before being rushed to a nearby hospital, where she remains in a critical condition.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez tweeted a warning about the dangers of pool parties afterwards.
He said: ‘For pool parties, don’t assume everyone is watching, cause undoubtedly no one is.
‘Have a designated pool watcher to keep an eye on swimmers at all times.
‘This should be a responsible adult who will not become distracted.’
Gonzalez spoke out after a second child was found unresponsive in the bottom of another pool in Katy Monday.
That girl, who is also two, was rushed to hospital in an ‘extremely critical’ condition.
