Mother admits killing twin babies found dead in their beds over Christmas
A mum has admitted killing her two 23-month-old twin babies, a court heard today.
Samantha Ford denied murder but admitted manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility.
The baby boy and girl were found dead in their beds in the early hours of December 27 after their mother was involved in a crash with a lorry.
She told emergency services to check her home, and officers discovered the two bodies during a 3.35am raid on the home in Castle Drive, Margate.
Pathologists believe they died the day before, on Boxing Day.
Ford is due to face a trial at Maidstone Crown Court starting on June 24 if prosecutors do not accept her plea.

A further hearing was set for June 10 and the defendant was remanded into custody.
The children’s father Steven Ford also attended the hearing today.
He previously tweeted out tributes to his children, saying they would be with him ‘forever’.
On Valentine’s Day, he tweeted: ‘Today is a day not to be sad, but a day to be thankful for the love we once had, you stole my heart which I gladly surrendered, on this day like all, you will be remembered x x’
