The research group used a method to stimulate the small pool of neural stem cells that reside in the brain in order to increase their number and the number of neurons generated by those stem cells. Additional neurons could survive and form new contacts with neighboring cells in the brain of old mice.

Police has busted a brown sugar manufacturing unit and seized a huge quantity of drugs in Manipur's Kangpoki district, a senior police officer said on Thursday. Superintendent of Police (Narcotics Affairs and Border) W Basu told reporters here that a NAB team raided Phaijang village in Kangpoki district on Wednesday night and busted the drugs factory.. The team seized 461 kg of brown sugar, 136 kg of lime, 100 kg of ammonium chloride and one litre of suspected liquid opium during the raid, the SP added.

Mississippi men tried to forge winning lottery ticket

Two Mississippi men allegedly used superglue to attach the winning numbers onto a lottery ticket so they could cash it in for $100,000. The Flowood Police Department told CNN the men had signed the ticket and presented it to the Mississippi Lottery Corp., but lottery officials realized it was fake and called authorities.
