No fresh COVID-19 cases for 2nd consecutive day in Kerala

In a major relief to Kerala, which is expecting over 350 expatriates to arrive by special flights later Thursday, the health department said no fresh cases of COVID-19 were reported from the state for the second consecutive day. Government outlay on COVID-19 social benefits reaches €7.35 million

A total of €7.35 million have been paid out in social benefits schemes related to COVID-19 so far, Family Minister Michael Falzon said on Thursday. The benefits offered by the Ministry for Family and Social Solidarity cover four schemes that help people who are unable to report for work or work from home due to medical conditions or disabilities that make them vulnerable to COVID-19, as well as people who stopped working in order to care for their children. GSK exits HUL, sells 5.7 pc stake for Rs 25,480 cr

GlaxoSmithKline Plc (GSK) on Thursday said it has offloaded its 5.7 per cent stake in Indian FMCG major Hindustan Unilever for around Rs 25,480 crore. The company had received the shares as part of the scheme of merger of its subsidiary GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Limited (GSK India) with Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL).
