The official coronavirus death rate is so much lower than reality
- More than 166,000 Americans have reportedly died as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, but according to The New York Times, the death toll is actually much higher.
- CDC estimates show that there have been more than 200,000 "excess deaths" in the US since March 15th, and those excess deaths are being reported where the virus is spreading.
- Only three states haven't reported excess deaths this year: Alaska, Hawaii, and West Virginia.
