Aubameyang slips over in training and has to have wrist strapped after ‘landing awkwardly’ just day before Europa League final
PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG suffered an injury scare just one day before the Europa League final.
The Arsenal striker, 29, was spotted with his left wrist strapped during training at the Olympic Stadium in Baku today.
There was no strapping when he was snapped practising on Sunday but is now clearly nursing some kind of injury.
It is understood he slipped in training and ‘landed awkwardly’, hence the strapping.
But the injury is not thought to be serious, to the relief of Arsenal fans, but is instead a minor sprain.
The Gunners’ hopes of winning the Europa League and therefore qualifying for the Champions League next season rest largely on Aubameyang’s shoulders.
He is seen as the biggest goal threat to Chelsea tomorrow night and will know he will fancy his chances against a Blues defence missing Antonio Rudiger.
The Gunners trained in the 67,000-capacity stadium today on the eve of the final.
And Uefa blasted out crowd noise into the empty ground – presumably in case there is no atmosphere from the spectators inside the stadium.

Arsenal and Chelsea have each returned 3,000 of their 6,000 tickets as the ludicrous travel was too much hassle for most fans, who will watch their team on TV instead.
But with Uefa selling thousands of tickets to the general public and handing plenty to corporate clients, they insist the stadium will be full.
And the Arsenal fans that do make the trip will be desperate to see a pain-free Aubameyang tearing it up for their side.
