Keeper Lid on it: Emery Yet to Decide on Keeper for Final

According to the Evening Standaaaaard, Unai Emery has yet to made a decision on who will start in Wednesday nights’s showpiece European Europa League Cup Final in Baku.

It was thought that he would go with his heart, and let Cech finish with a swan song performance against his old club Chelsea, but it seems as though his stone cold Spanish heart could now be the front runner to ruthlessly drop Cech, starting Bernd Leno for the game.

It would cruel on Cech, having played 10 of our 14 Europa League games this season, and against his old club for his last game, Emery starting Leno would be a full on, heartless smack in the face Cech, denying his his perfect goodbye.

Emery said:

“Tomorrow he can start or not start, I am going to decide, but both for him is with respect, and really, how can we not believe in him? “The first eleven for tomorrow, I want to tell the players first. I can speak about Cech a lot, but above all he’s a great man, his behaviour is amazing in his year here with me. I want to do something important with him. This is my conversation with him. I want to do something important with him in the last moment of his career, playing or not playing…”

Rumours are still rife that Cech could return to Chelsea over the summer in a coaching capacity, but there is still no confirmation of this so far as the keeper looks to bid farewell to Arsenal with a trophy in Azerbaijan tomorrow, lets hope his dream of lifting a trophy with Arsenal after his last game comes true.
