Report reveals how many Spurs and Liverpool fans will travel to Madrid

Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool fans are just four days away from watching their sides compete for Europe’s biggest club football prize.

This may be the second year in a row that Liverpool supporters have been able to watch their team play in a Champions League final, but it will be Spurs’ first appearance in their history.

Tottenham qualified for the final in sensational circumstances, as a Lucas Moura hat-trick in the second half against Ajax fired them back from a 3-0 aggregate deficit.

Liverpool similarly overturned a 3-0 result by beating Barcelona 4-0 at Anfield in their own semi-final masterclass.

Unfortunately, each side was only given just over 16,000 tickets for the final in Madrid on June 1, despite the stadium holding 68,000 (Mirror).

However, this will not stop some fans, as the Daily Mail reports that Madrid is set to expect around 70,000 fans from both sides in the coming days.

It is sure to be a cracking atmosphere in Spain, but which team will come out on top?

Spurs Web Opinion:

In my opinion, there should be close to 70,000 fans going to the game itself. I see no reason why the tickets are not simply split down the middle between the two clubs. The event should not be about money-making, but about rewarding two sets of fans for their loyal and expensive support through the campaign.
