Best horse racing tips for today’s action at Newton Abbot, Beverley, Hamilton, Warwick and Cartmel from Tom Bull
I’M back for another crack at the racing on Wednesday and there are some tasty meetings to get stuck into.
The caravan rolls on to Beverley and Hamilton so let’s see if I can keep up the good work.
Newton Abbot
Sizing Platinum – 3.00
Sent off favourite at Ffos Las earlier this month and duly made no mistake, accounting for 14 rivals in fine style.
He’s copped a hefty rise in the weights but is very unexposed and hasn’t had long with Colin Tizzard, so should be able to progress again.
Conditions are ideal and jockey Harry Cobden is operating a 27 percent strike-rate.
Beverley
Thomas Cubitt – 5.10
Produced a much-improved performance on handicap debut and might well have won had he not been on the inside of the track.
Takes on his conqueror again but has a swing in the weights and should be able to reverse the form.
A first-time visor could perk him up and he should come on considering he’s had just four starts to date.
Hamilton
Betty Grable – 3.55
This is a really, really bad race and the only horse with any worthwhile recent form is Wilf Storey’s five-year-old.
She’s won two of her last three and her most recent success was pretty comprehensive as she travelled all over them before quickening clear.
She should win again in this contest, which is about as bad as you’ll see.
Warwick
Longhouse Sale 5.30
Returned from a break with a smooth victory at Ludlow and should really be a cut above these rivals, even with a penalty.
Boasts an unbeaten record and can take another step up the ladder here.
Cartmel
Deyrann De Carjac – 7.20
This looks a straight up match and the weight concession swings things towards Alan King’s contender, who has some smart hurdle form and should be able to pick up a novice chase.
King couldn’t have found a much easier contest for his six-year-old and he should be too good.
