Kudos to Walnut Creek for
recognizing Pride Month

Re: “Walnut Creek is known for family values, not this” (Letter to the editor, May 22):

When I read the homophobic screed from Dane Hansen, my thoughts instantly went to that bumper sticker, “Hate is NOT a Family Value.” To the contrary, sir, most cities support, celebrate and include all of their citizens, so kudos to Walnut Creek for recognizing Pride Month and flying the rainbow flag.

Also, in the 21st century, most families welcome, love and support their LGBT relatives, in-laws and friends. I’m so sorry that yours and some other families think otherwise, embracing hate and bigotry while flying the false flag of “family values.”
