Defending champions India failed to finish on the podium after they lost 1-3 to France in the bronze-medal playoff in the FIH Junior Hockey World Cup here today. France skipper Timothee Clement slammed a hat-trick to stun the hosts for the second time in the tournament to secure bronze. Clement converted three penalty corners in the 26th, 34th and 47th minutes while India’s lone goal was struck by Sudeep Chirmako in the 42nd minute.
The Indian hockey team lost 3-1 to France in the third-place playoff match. Sudeep Chirmako, on his birthday, scored India’s only goal.

Lautaro Domene rattled in a hat-trick as Argentina defeated Germany 4-2 to win the International Hockey Federation Men’s Junior World Cup for the second time in Bhubaneswar.
Lautaro Domene’s hat-trick of drag-flick goals and Nehuen Hernando’s goalkeeping combined to bring Argentina a 4-2 victory over six-time champions Germany in the 2021 FIH Men’s Junior World Cup final at the Kalinga stadium in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.
Day 11: Lautaro Domene scored a hat-trick of penalty corners to help Argentina become men’s Junior World Cup champions for the second time in their history, beating Germany 4-2 in a superb competition final in Bhubaneswar.
