Sheridan Smith has quit Channel 4 series Adult Material about the British porn industry
IT was only a matter of time before something had to give for Sheridan Smith.
She will be starring in West End show Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat from next month – and in new BBC1 crime drama The Barking Murders.
But the actress has stepped away from X-rated duties playing a porn star and mum-of-three in Channel 4’s Adult Material later this year.
A Channel 4 spokeswoman said: “Sheridan is not involved due to conflicting commitments.”
The role of Jolene Dollar will instead be taken by I, Daniel Blake star Hayley Squires.
Hayley will appear in the series, penned by Skins and The Smoke writer Lucy Kirkwood, alongside Rupert Everett, who plays her pal and producer.
