St Joseph’s chapel at the Citadel

Tomorrow, March 19, the Church celebrates the feast of St Joseph, patron of the Universal Church. In 1625, a chapel dedicated to the saint was raised on the site of an earlier chapel within the Citadel in Victoria through the munificence of Bishop Baldassare Cagliares (1615–1633). Feast of Ecce Homo at St Dominic’s

The Dominican community of Valletta will be holding the feast of the Ecce Homo (Christ crowned with thorns) today, Friday, March 18. The Way of the Cross (Via Sagra) will be held at 5.45pm, followed by Mass at 6.15pm. According to the parish history books, there is nothing recorded about the origin of the miraculous effigy of the Ecce Homo.
