An early model (1951) Cessna 172 on final approach to Dillingham Airfield on the North shore of Oahu. Note the straight tailfin, the familiar swept back tailfin wouldn’t appear until 1960. While many refer to the Cessna 172 as the ‘Skyhawk’, that name didn’t come into use until late 1960.
