Ford announces 3,000 job cuts as it moves towards electric future
DETROIT, MICHIGAN: As part of its restructuring aimed at competing with rival Tesla in developing software-driven electric vehicles, Ford said it will cut 3,000 salaried and contract jobs, mostly in North America and India.
According to Ford Chief Executive Jim Farley, the Michigan automaker had too many employees, and many did not have the skills required to shift to EVs and digital services.
