Senglea trees mutilated to accommodate feast decorations, residents claim
Trees in Senglea have been stripped of entire branches and parts of their canopies shaved off, with residents saying it is to make space for statues and other decorations ahead of the annual feast. Photos posted to social media on Monday showed trees missing entire sections of leaves and branches, leaving them with brown hollow patches in which erected poles, drapes, rope lights, pedestals and statues can supposedly fit comfortably.
