Young girls have faced down armoured cars with their bare hands as protests grow in Iran, demonstrators said last night. Violent clashes with police began eight days ago, following the death in custody of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old woman arrested by Iran's "morality police" for allegedly wearing her headscarf too loosely.
The mother of a teenage sailor whose role in the Queen's state funeral was beamed around the world revealed: "I'm unbelievably proud - sometimes words aren't enough." Engineer technician Mason Myers-Roberts, 19, was one of the 40-strong brake team who marched behind the Queen's coffin to keep the carriage secure.
